What, I can't know already? Steve Harvey saved my life at the airport, or at least, reprioritized my intentions. Cleared my conscience for once, and reaffirmed what I'd already learned through my marriage..., and being responsible. No, he didn't explain in any of his chapters what it took the first five years of being married to figure out.
That, was my own rite of passage. All fights were about furniture-arrangement, I'll have you know. When you agree to commit to someone who values precision (a damning vice of well-trained pilots), whose metropolitan angle always trumps hobo-chic, no matter what. Robin McGraw knows of what I speak...a woman's penchant to keep rearranging EVERYTHING?!?
And her husband's refusal to see the logic in any of it. Regardless, Steve Harvey showed me that having standards for oneself, and keeping them...makes a person not only attractive, but also righteous marriage material. I gained my standards THROUGH MY HUSBAND, well, if you can call a preference for high-quality goods, standards. His eye for design is impeccable.
I learned my ETHICS, my classical bent towards responsible citizenry, my arrogance-quotient, if you will...through homeschooling. Only, homeschoolers aren't all that smart in general...or at least, are oft wrongly organized. Didn't take more than two elitist interactions with people who'd rather TURN OFF the helpful media, lest the effort actually had to be exerted to CHANGE IT.
Buncha lazy-asses fill the earth...and heading undeservingly to heaven, I might add. Except for Steve Harvey, and his GOSPEL AWARDS. Lovely BET, gets more extraordinary by the day.
