Or, "satyameva jayate" for those who still can't tell the difference between disclosure and absolutes. Like say, maybe a month ago I was so privileged to receive an H1N1 shot, but only because I had to lower myself to telling a sob story in order to get it (you know which one).
And upon getting it (despite my unfavorable trimester), I emailed everyone I knew. We each threw individual "u got the H1N1 shot" parties, only on shared message boards. So fun.
During every Scrabble game that doesn't exist within my fingertipped perimeter, I threw my points into the "okay fine, u win" (but have lost all my respect) void. Just so I could enlighten my opponents with cleverly insightful hints like "cure", "spared", and "redeemed".
Most of that didn't actually happen though. Except the first part, and the celebratory feelings afterwards that were stamped out. Not always sure where feelings like that go. At the time though, I knew I couldn't dare be happy for being spared at all, when the rest of my family could die, thanks to where the wind blows.
Can't blame the wind, can't fault the government, will just pretend to believe in a future that is better than where we're at now. There are no absolutes, anyhow.
